CORONA LOSING BLUE

THE CANS THAT SHOWED JUST HOW POLLUTED MEXICO’S BEACHES ARE

PACKAGING DESIGN | DATA VISUALISATION

Campaign Case Study

In Mexico, plastic pollution has reached such critical levels that the beaches are now buried in waste. Beaches and Corona go hand in hand, and we wanted Mexicans to know how serious things have become.

We worked with marine biologists and environmental scientists to determine the level of plastic found at ten popular Mexican beaches. Then we changed our iconic can design to visualise the data. The more polluted the beach, the less blue was shown on the can. Each can delivered our message around the country – “The more plastic we use, the more ocean we lose.”

DESIGN & DATA VISUALISATION

Using the iconic blue on our packaging, we showed the level of plastic pollution found on each beach. The more plastic there was, the less ocean we showed.
